How The Process Works
We create your bespoke fragrance with our fine fragrance perfumer in England.
To begin, we ask you to identify the fragrance families, notes and styles you are drawn to, giving us a clear creative starting point. It is also helpful to consider your intended retail price so we can advise on suitable packaging and product options.
Our bespoke fragrance development fee is £100 per fragrance (minimum of five fragrances). This covers the creation of your initial fragrance oil samples.

Once your fragrance has been approved, it is formulated into your chosen product. Whether you're creating a fine fragrance, candle, room spray, hair and body care collection, solid perfume or another bespoke product, each formulation is developed to ensure your fragrance performs as intended.
For fine fragrance projects, we provide blended fragrance samples at your chosen concentration (Parfum, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette) before production, free of charge.
For candles, room sprays, hair and body care products and other formulations, we produce finished product samples so you can assess the fragrance's performance in its intended application before manufacturing.
Initial fragrance oil samples take approximately 4 weeks to develop. Should the first submission require refinement, we will continue to rework the fragrance at no additional cost until it meets your requirements.
We can also provide design services, helping create bottle artwork, labels and branding, as well as custom packaging design and sourcing, giving you a complete product ready for market.
Once everything has been approved, we move into production, selecting the bottle, packaging and components best suited to your brand before manufacturing your finished products.
From fragrance development and formulation to compliance, design, packaging and production, we ensure every product is professionally developed and ready for market.

Regulatory Requirements
Fragrance products are legally required to comply with cosmetic safety regulations before they can be sold.
This includes:
A CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report)
Product notification through the OPSS (Office for Product Safety & Standards) portal
These are not optional — they are mandatory legal requirements for retail sale.
We handle this process on your behalf to ensure your product is fully compliant, documented and authorised for market.

ARE BESPOKE FRAGRANCES CREATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR EACH BRAND?
Yes. Every bespoke fragrance we develop is catalogued and reserved exclusively for the brand it was created for. We will not supply the same bespoke fragrance formula to another customer.
DOES MY BRAND OWN THE FRAGRANCE?
Yes. Your brand owns its approved bespoke fragrance exclusively, giving you complete control over how it is used across your products and collections.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF FRAGRANCE REWORKS?
No. We will continue refining and reworking your fragrance until you are completely satisfied with it. All fragrance reworks are included within the development process at no additional charge.
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR FINAL PRODUCT SAMPLES?
No. Once your fragrance oil has been approved, we provide final product samples at your chosen concentration or within its intended product formulation free of charge before full production begins.
CAN YOU SUPPLY FRAGRANCE OIL WITHOUT MANUFACTURING THE FINISHED PRODUCT?
Yes. We can develop and supply the bespoke fragrance oil for your own production requirements. Alternatively, we can manage the complete process and supply fully manufactured, packaged and retail-ready finished products.
ARE YOUR FRAGRANCES MADE IN ENGLAND?
Yes. Our bespoke fragrances are developed with our fine-fragrance perfumer and manufactured in England. Fine fragrances are blended, macerated, filled and finished in the UK.
DO I NEED A COMPLETED FRAGRANCE IDEA BEFORE CONTACTING YOU?
No. You can approach us with anything from a detailed fragrance brief to a simple idea, mood, reference scent or selection of notes. We will help turn your initial concept into a clear creative direction for the perfumer.
CAN YOU HELP NEW AND START-UP BRANDS?
Yes. We work with brands of all sizes, from new independent businesses launching their first product to established companies developing complete fragrance and lifestyle collections.
CAN ONE SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE BE USED ACROSS DIFFERENT PRODUCTS?
Yes. We can adapt your approved fragrance for use across fine fragrance, candles, room sprays, diffusers, hair care, body care and other scented products. Each version is formulated and tested for its intended application.
CAN YOU HELP WITH BOTTLES, PACKAGING AND BRANDING?
Yes. We can assist with bottle selection, components, labels, artwork, branding and bespoke packaging design and sourcing. We can manage everything required to create a complete product ready for retail.
WHAT DOCUMENTATION IS PROVIDED?
Fragrance development includes an SDS, IFRA Certificate, Allergen Declaration and full safety and traceability documentation. Where additional product-specific certification or notification is legally required, such as a CPSR or OPSS notification, we can also arrange this on your behalf.
HOW LONG DOES BESPOKE FRAGRANCE DEVELOPMENT TAKE?
Initial fragrance oil samples normally take approximately four weeks to develop. If refinements are required, we will continue reworking the fragrance until you are satisfied.
WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY?
Our minimum order quantity is 150 units per fragrance for fine fragrance and 100 units per fragrance for candles. These low minimum order quantities allow both new and established brands to launch professionally manufactured products without committing to unnecessarily large production volumes.
CAN YOU MANAGE THE COMPLETE PROCESS?
Yes. Evolution Fragrance House offers a complete end-to-end service covering fragrance development, formulation, compliance, design, component sourcing, packaging and UK manufacturing. We can take your product from its initial concept through to a finished item ready for retail.
